Garage Window Replacement: Before & After

The Project

After purchasing this home built in the 1950’s, homeowners Nick and Hayley were looking to replace the home’s garage windows with some quality windows that look great and provide ventilation. The two single-pane windows in question were original to the home and had significant damage. Due to the age of the home, this installation was done in accordance with lead safe practices to prevent any lead contamination or exposure. With the newly installed windows, Nick and Hayley can enjoy some added natural light and ventilation while working in the garage.

When asked about this project, Nick mentioned “This was my first window replacement project and the DirectVue team removed any concerns early on. From the design consultation through their installation crew walking me through the finished install, the team was informative, professional and presented solutions to questions I didn’t think to ask. We have a baby on the way and I look forward to having DirectVue out to finish the rest of the house before she arrives. I would highly recommend this local company to anyone looking to replace their windows.”

The Windows

For this project we installed a Cambridge awning window on the side of the garage and a Cambridge 2-Lite Slider in the back. Since the awning window was near landscaping and the slider butted up against the deck, we recommended tempered glass on these units in case they get damaged to provide added safety. We installed exterior capping on these windows to provide a clean finished look from the outside. For the interior we trimmed out the perimeter of the frame, resulting in a seamless look.
